A STAR-SPANGLED DAY

 A day to stand tall, wave the flag, have a parade and celebrate the freedom preserved over 200 years.  To me the American flag serves as a beacon to the World, a symbol for all mankind that we have the God given rights to freedom of speech, freedom of religion, and the pursuit of happiness.

 I can't wait for autumn to arrive.  This season never fails to dazzle me with its rich vibrant colors as the landscapes all around me turned into many shades of red, yellow, orange, and brown.  It brings back so many good memories of picking pumpkins, tackling the crazy maze in the cornfields, and other fun things that go with this season.

FISHERMAN'S  COVE 

Here is my latest painting inspired by my favorite seaside town of Peggy's Cove, a small historic fishing village in Nova Scotia.

If ever you have the chance to visit eastern Canada, be sure to include this town in your itinerary.  This small picturesque town was founded in 1811 when German settlers were given land grants by the government of Nova Scotia.  These settlers mostly earned their living as fishermen, but they also farmed areas that were fertile and pastured cattle.  Today it is one of Nova Scotia’s favourite tourist destinations, tourism has surpassed the fishing industry as the main source of income in this town after the Second World War, but lobster fishing is still practiced here.
