WALK WITH MY FATHER

* * * * * * *

A father walks with his daughter down the aisle
First few steps seemed like a mile
His once little girl oh so lovely and bright smile

On her way to join her man in a while.

The waiting party looked on with smiling faces
Then his steps turned a faster pace
Through his mind anxious thoughts did race
Of lovely babe in white wedding lace.

Memories of her wrapped in swaddling clothes
Covering tiny body head to toes
Why these thoughts heaven knows
Then he sees her face all rosy glows.

His legs seemed like they weighed a ton
Long and hard the aisles to walk on
Images of happy years through his mind cling on
But at the end he knew it's time to let go.

This review is from: Ceaco Dockside - Smiley's (Toy)

"Artist Wilfrido Limvalencia creates a vibrant, seaside scene in SMILEY'S, part of the Dockside series by the Ceaco Puzzle Company, based in Newton MA - practically in my backyard. Limvalencia uses a bright, bold acrylic palette to emphasize the sun-drenched clarity of a day by the sea.

These puzzles are a joy to build. Although the box says for ages 12+, the color definition is so intense that separating pieces was easily done by my 7 and 9-year olds. They loved working as a team to complete this 550 piece work. It's a complement to Ceaco that their puzzle designs are so accessible to all family members.

Limvalencia paints a contemporary seaside scene featuring a couple kayaking as another group enjoys lunch at Smiley's on the dock. Besides Smiley's Fish and Chips, the picture includes a bakery, ice cream store, church and some other colorful structures on the hill, in a variety of colors to create a slice-of-life feel. It's folk art for the 21st century."

Wintertime in Sugarcreek

It's wintertime again in small town Sugarcreek, the entire place is covered with snow and people come out with shovels in hand.  This ritual of winter brings people together, they bundle up ready to clear paths on their walkways and also those of their neighbors'.   On these snow days what fun it is for the kids to build a snowman and after all that work they get to enjoy some hot cocoa and cupcakes!
