This is the rustic shop-by-the-sea that I've been wanting to paint for a long time... finally it's done! I have collected so many cat/nautical ideas to be thrown in here but finally just used less than half as I run out of space to place them!

This is the Main Gallery... buyers are welcome to browse and shop to their hearts' delight!
I named this shop Capt. Kirby's and it has a website at www captkirby.com, but don't attempt to visit as it exists only in my painting!

They sell everything needed by the lobster catchers.
On SALE... brand new lobster traps for only $49.99 each! A great way to beat inflation.

Farther off are lobster boats... these are Capt.Kirby's best customers for new traps and buoys.

Here is Grandpa working on his ancient boat.

An eye-catching wood-carved watcher set high above the shop... a well-known landmark in this part of town.

Yes... we also sell boat paint! Any color can be mixed up in a jiffy.
The Master Wood-carver and family at work... creating more "Capt. Kirby" wooden figures, the shop's best seller.

Gray cat loves to lie down on cool cedars fresh off the lumber yard.

Everything in this big pile of nautical stuffs are on sale... except the cats!
Colorful handcrafted whirligigs and carvings beckon art lovers to come and buy.

True to Chinese proverb... colorful whirligigs in motion... bring in good feng shui to any garden.
A rare antique find... the sailor cat that eats a balance diet!

A close-up pic of the stuffs on sale... antique buoys, oars, decoy, and other goodies for the collectors.

More arts and crafts and seashells... fresh starfish are also available.

Capt. Kirby at the beach... one of the coolest summer decors for your beach house.

PURR-FECT BLOOMS

It's spring time and Purr-fect Blooms is all aglow with colorful flowers! This is a little sea-side garden shop with some of most beautiful fresh flower arrangements this part of town. This morning as usual the shop owners are busy taking care of the plants and keeping an eye on the playful kittens.

A close up shot of the old lighthouse which for many years serves as a faithful beacon to ships that pass this way.
This schooner code named C4T5, also known as the "Cats" to the locals, sails off early ahead of the weekend crowd.
Here I painted one of the shop-owners preparing the pot for more topiaries. The scene looks simple now that it is done, but at the start it was a bit daunting figuring out how to position and paint the various objects that will overlap each other.
The park-like yard is turned into a great display area for many garden goodies.
I particularly like whirlygigs... whenever I see one I always think the inventor must be pretty clever coming up with a great design that actually works.
This is a great original idea for a fountain-birdbath, featuring a sculpture of Jonah Cat with a water-spouting fish!

A closer look at the various garden ornaments for sale. For years, I saw the 'stooping lady' in many gardens, so I'm a bit worried it may look tired and dated; but then can it be worse than the pink flamingo? So here she is... and I've given her a pet cat!
As always, I must have my favorite pet in my painting. Here are some mischievous kittens having fun... exploring the garden's every nook and cranny. I have some of them chasing butterflies that were attracted by the wonderful scent of spring flowers.

It's spring time!
ENJOY!

A customer tries to make up her mind if this is the "must-have" quilt.

Hmmm... what does the gray cat think about it?

You sure can't miss this aerial banner ad announcing the good news!

Inside the shop there are more items for sale... the rugs, stove, and many more stuffs, including the literal kitchen sink!

This avid bookreader took advantage of the sale and loaded up on her favorite novels... these books will keep her busy reading for an entire year!

IT'S A JOLLY DOLLY HOLIDAY

AN ORIGINAL PAINTING

Title: It's A Jolly Dolly Holiday

Image size: 24 x 30 in.

Medium: Acrylic on Canvas

-Details-
(Click on the picture for a larger view)
This Santa Blimp can be seen for miles away and it is lit up at night!

Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe... where you can find all kinds of ornaments (made in China, naturally) and other knick-knacks to decorate your trees and make your home truly festive for the season. Here Grandma Dolly dressed up as Mrs. Santa helps another customer.

In Jolly Dolly Farm you can pick out the tree and cut it down yourself for $5/ft. or you can request one of Santa's helpers to do it for $6/ft... plus tip, of course.

Here is a Santa's assistant delivering a tree by horse drawn sled.

Jolly Dolly Santa's helpers load up the truck to deliver the trees to local buyers who made their purchases online. Those out of town buyers will receive their trees via Fedex.

This couple hurries home with their tree... they can't wait to set it up as a centerpiece. This Christmas weekend they are going to have a party with friends and family.

This dad wonders why the tree is so heavy!

Dilemma... dilemma... how to get this tree home in the Smart car! The guy with the Hummer has no problem at all.

IT'S A JOLLY DOLLY HOLIDAY!

I hope this painting brings back many good memories of your past Christmases.... ENJOY!!!

Thank you for viewing my work.

Galloping Goose Lake

AN ORIGINAL PAINTING

Title: Galloping Goose Lake

Image size: 24 x 30 in.

Medium: Acrylic on Canvas

- Details -

It's autumn time at the lake which I called the Galloping Goose Lake. The name "Galloping Goose" is really the name of a trail in Vancouver Island, B.C.! Here I painted a little red cabin with Adirondack chairs. See the cat looking at his own image in the water while waiting to catch a fish!

In this beautiful lake setting, the nearest neighbor is several miles away.

These Canadian geese have gathered here to discuss their flight plans to the south. They don't gallop but they can sure fly in V-formation.

A sea plane is coming in for a landing!

This plane has landed and the pilot secures the plane to the dock.

Russell the bulldog watching his master pulls up the kayak for the last time... until next summer's vacation.

The kids will be back to school and this sea doo speedster is soon to be cleaned and drydocked... until next summer's waveboarding.

Please leave a message if you enjoy it or not... I would appreciate your input! Thank you.
